Sun-Kyo Park, born in 1990 in Jeonju, South Korea, is an acclaimed Korean artist who graduated from Hoseo University in 2015 with a Visual Design degree. Currently residing and creating in Seoul, Park has received recognition, notably the Independant 2019 KOREA award. Park's artistic focus gravitates towards the profound impact of a character's impression. His attention fixates on facial expressions when observing individuals, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping initial perceptions. While acknowledging the significance of body language in conveying mental states, Park firmly believes that a person's emotions and history find their most revealing narrative through facial expressions. The absence of facial emotion, even amidst other communicative gestures, poses a challenge in instantly captivating an audience upon first glance. The artist values the evanescent afterimage that encapsulates a character's essence, derived from a brief yet intense amalgamation of gathered information. This fleeting impression serves as a powerful conduit, allowing swift recognition and intuitive absorption of a person's essence. Consequently, when Park creates a character, he meticulously harmonizes various elements such as the body, attire, background, and other contextual facets to achieve a cohesive visual narrative and provide supplementary context.
