Let’s establish my credentials. I’m Steve Lazarides. I’m intimately connected to the Banksy market and possess an unparalleled grasp of his artworks’ value, provenance, and location. I personally sold many key pieces to individuals and organisations who I remain in touch with regularly. I am happy to help source, advise upon, and sell Banksy pieces on behalf of authentic and reputable collectors… no time wasters entertained. I discovered Banksy then nurtured the most popular artist of his generation through his first decade. If you’ve seen Exit Through the Gift Shop, I’m the bald sweary bloke. From 1997-2008 I worked as Banksy’s sole, primary sales agent, plus as his official photographer, driver, guy who ran down to the digital imaging centre to pick up the flyers, and plenty more besides. In 2006 I opened a space in Soho, London, that was the first gallery to represent Invader, JR, Faile, Vhils and many other now-iconic street artists. Keen to expand the stable beyond vandalism, I exhibited painters such as Antony Micallef and Jonathan Yeo, plus other ‘outsiders’ from the established art circuit that are now considered among the finest talents of their generation. Many of these artists I showcased at ground-breaking experiential events that you can see below. Recently I’ve appeared in Sky Arts documentaries Banksy and the Rise of Outlaw Art and Goldie: The Art that Made Me, plus Canal Plus’ Banksy Wanted, and Amazon Prime’s Marcus Jansen: Examine and Report.
