Shazia began her career at a greeting card company before transitioning to freelance work and starting a family. Today, she is a celebrated full-time artist known for her insightful paintings of children and young people. Her vibrant and cheerful color palette draws inspiration from her travels in South America, a journey she embarked on after university with her now-husband Ian. Reflecting on this experience, Shazia recalls, "We visited Mexico, and at Frida Kahlo's house, everything was so vivid and colorful. I strive to incorporate that brightness into my work, featuring children with red hair and bright, striped t-shirts."
