, b. 1980

Hayley Welsh, a British-born artist, has firmly established herself as an exceptionally talented figure in the street art realm. With recent exhibitions in London and New York, her whimsical street art has garnered affectionate recognition for its surreal, fluffy, wide-eyed creatures, which carry an underlying sense of the unknown and the abyss. In each of her pieces, Welsh weaves a poignant narrative, captivating us and leaving us intrigued, encouraging introspection and urging us to heed our inner voices. Maintaining studios in both Australia and the UK, Welsh frequently travels between the two locations. Over the past decade, she has created over 40 remarkable street art pieces across the UK, Australia, the US, and Europe, actively participating in street art festivals worldwide. Having personally witnessed the positive influence of street art on public spaces, Hayley has also initiated "Blackburn Open Walls," a local street arts project in her hometown. From 2016 to 2018, she spearheaded this popular endeavor, revitalizing Blackburn's burgeoning creative economy while fostering unity within the community through creative conversations.
