With minimal formal training, Eve Arnold joined the prestigious Magnum Photos agency in 1952. Over the next two decades, she created a wide range of reportage work for prominent magazines. Her Hollywood portraiture, particularly her renowned series of Marilyn Monroe, gained widespread acclaim. Arnold was especially celebrated for her documentary work in challenging and often inaccessible regions, including the former Soviet Union, Mongolia, China, and the Middle East. In the 1970s, Arnold shifted her focus to publishing photography books, further cementing her reputation.
