Ericailcane

ItalianItalian
, b. 1980

For his 2013 solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Bogotá, Ericailcane extended his artistic vision beyond the gallery walls by painting a striking mural of a horse and alligator on the museum’s façade. A graduate of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, Ericailcane first emerged in the art world through collaborations in graffiti and street art with fellow artist Blu. His body of work is populated by a fantastical array of animals, mythical creatures, and zoomorphic inventions that appear in murals, drawings, videos, and installations. His public murals, seen across the globe, often feature anthropomorphized animals—such as tigers, rabbits, mice, and cats—rendered in a haunting style that echoes Victorian-era illustrations.
