Dirty Hans is a Painter & Illustrator who specializes in creating High Impact Contemporary Urban Art. As a self-taught artist, I hail from Liverpool, England, where I spent my formative years. Painting became my refuge, offering a sense of calm that countered my hyperactive tendencies during childhood. It wasn't until I stumbled upon the early works of Roy Lichtenstein and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec that I began to take painting seriously. Their influence shaped my own artistic style. As I ventured through various travels, my life experiences and encounters with different painting techniques ignited a newfound passion, inspiring me to channel my boundless energy into crafting bold and fresh compositions. My artistic inspiration draws from a diverse range of sources, including the captivating imagery of 1950s culture, movies, comic books, pulp magazines, and interactions with more traditional contemporary artists. Throughout my journey as an artist, I have had the privilege of showcasing my work in exhibitions in Antwerp, Brussels, and the northwest of England. Now, I am eager to expand my reach into the digital and mixed media realm. When I create, I wield acrylics and spray paint on canvas. Words cannot fully convey the emotions and sensations I aim to evoke with my art. Instead, I rely on my paintings to communicate for me, hoping that you, the viewer, find as much joy in experiencing them as I did in bringing them to life. My artistic journey is an ongoing exploration of expression, and I hope my work resonates with your own unique perspective.
